Are there any indoor pickleball courts in Palm Springs or Palm Desert…Barry
My husband and I are renting a home in Cathedral City for the Motnof February 2018. We are hoping to play Pickleball and would love an email of a contact name where we could get some information.
Hi Kare, I’d recommend looking at the USAPA Places to Play site to see if there are any pickleball clubs in that area you could get in touch with. You could also email one of the USAPA ambassadors for your location and ask them what opportunities may be available. Good luck!
Is open play at Demuth Park from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.? Is that the only time for open outdoor play?
Hi, there – I, too, am a newbie and want to get involved. I spoke with someone about coming to Demuth Park, but have lost the info. Can you please send me specifics as to timing to come and check it out? Thanks so much.
Hi Kathy, if you go to usapa.org and their “Places to Play” section and then choose CA, there are two listings you can find related to Demuth although it seems like they’re for the same community center. There’s open play outdoors 7 days a week (6:30 – 8:30) and indoor play Mon – Fri 7 – 10am located at the Demuth Park Community Center Gym at 3601 East Mesquite Avenue. Indoor play has a $5/day drop-in fee or $50 per/year membership.
Hi All: Where is a good place to shop for pickleball paddles around the palm springs CA area? Any information will be v much appreciated. Sandy
We thoroughly enjoyed playing at the Palm Desert Rec Center this past March. The players were very friendly, and the competition was fun for intermediate players. We look forward to playing there again in the near future.

Demuth Park at Gene Autry and Mesquite has play daily, especially Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 10am. Public courts, so bring a paddle and ball. 9 courts
Good news. The City of Palm Springs at Demuth Park as of 11/15 has 9 outdoor dedicated courts–and 2 indoor. All public. Nancy and Dean Mangione are the Palm Springs ambassadors.
Thank you for letting us know. I have updated our Local Pickleball Guide to include this information. Great News!
I am new but want to play pickle ball. I have played it a few times with people who gave me the ground rules. With whom do I talk to and where can I play to learn more?
Hi Sandie, I would recommend contacting the pickleball coaches in this post or some of the local clubs. Usually clubs are very welcoming and happy to teach newbies the ropes. The coaches could likely give you some in-depth info as well.
I teach PB in Victoria, BC. Canada at a local community center. We don’t have access to courses which give accreditation for PB instructors or coaches. I will be in the Palm Desert community Jan and Feb. 2017. Are there any courses available to this end? Is anyone willing to give a course? Are there 5.0 players interested in putting something together?
